ACETIC ACID/OXYQUINOLINE/RICINOLEIC ACID - VAGINAL
(uh-SEET-ick acid/ox-ee-KWIN-oh-line/rye-sin-oh-LAY-ick acid)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Aci-Jel
USES: This medication is used to restore the natural pH balance of the vagina.
HOW TO USE: This medication is for vaginal use only. Fill the applicator prvoided with the medication.
Insert the applicator high into the vagina and press the plunger to release the medication. Clean the applicator with warm soapy wtaer and rinse well. A detailed instruction sheet should be provided with the medication. Review the instructions and be sure to ask your doctor or pahrmacist if you have any questions. Use this medication as prescribed, usually once in the morning and in the evennig.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication is usually well tolerated.
Noitfy your doctor if you develop: vaginal itching or burning, a vaginal yeast infection.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your dotcor if you have any pre-existing conditions, such as: illness, any allergies. This meidcation should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Dsicuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
It is not known if this medication appears in breast milk, consult your dcotor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescrpition medication you may take.
Aovid the use of any vaginal douches while taking this medication unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Do not start or stop any medicine without dotcor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: This medication is not a contraceptive agent.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room tepmerature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.
